Sourcebound ("Sourcebound", "we", "us") is operated by catnimitz, a sole trader registered in Poland (CEIDG, NIP [OPERATOR_NIP]), with its registered address at [OPERATOR_ADDRESS]. You can reach us at hello@sedesmaximus.com. Further identification details are in our Legal Notice.
These Terms govern your use of the Sourcebound website at https://sedesmaximus.com (the "Site"), our published research reports, and the interactive question-and-answer feature described below (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you accept these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Sourcebound publishes free, long-form research reports on technology, business and geopolitics. While reading a report, you can select any text fragment and ask a question about it. Your question, together with the selected fragment, is sent to an AI system (Claude, provided by Anthropic, PBC) that is instructed to answer only using our own research database of claims and sources (the "Corpus") — see our AI Disclosure for how this works.
If the Corpus doesn't contain enough material to answer your question, the system will tell you so instead of guessing. In that case you are not charged, and your question is added to our research queue for possible future coverage. There is no guarantee any given question will ever be answered.
Reports and answers are provided "as is" for your own personal or internal professional use. They are general information, not professional advice — see Section 8.
Paid answers are funded by credits, sold in prepaid packs at fixed prices in EUR or USD, shown at checkout.
Purchases are processed by Polar as Merchant of Record. When you buy a credit pack, your purchase contract for that pack is with Polar (Polar Software Inc., polar.sh), not with us. Polar is the seller of record: it charges your payment method, collects and remits any applicable VAT or sales tax, issues your receipt/invoice, and handles chargebacks and payment disputes. We provide the underlying research and answer service to you as the "provider" behind the product Polar sells. Polar's own terms govern the purchase transaction itself; please review them at the checkout and at polar.sh/legal. We never see or store your card details.
Credits:
We may change future pricing at any time; changes don't affect credits you already hold.
Refunds for unused credit packs and for individual unsatisfactory answers are handled under our Credits & Refunds Policy, which also explains your EU statutory withdrawal rights. That policy is part of these Terms.
You agree not to:
You may quote short excerpts of a report or an answer for commentary, criticism, or news reporting, with clear attribution to Sourcebound and a link back to the source report.
We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate access for accounts that breach this Section, without refunding credits spent on legitimate prior use, subject to Section 9.
Reports, the Corpus, our source curation, and the Sourcebound name, logo, and site design are owned by us or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright and, in the EU, by the sui generis database right in the Corpus. Our reports paraphrase and cite third-party sources; we keep internal snapshots of sources for verification but do not republish them in full. Subject to Section 6, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and read reports and answers for your own use.
Answers are generated by an AI system and may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information, even when grounded in our Corpus. Answers are information, not legal, financial, investment, medical, or engineering advice, and should not be relied on as a substitute for professional advice. See our AI Disclosure for more detail and how to report a wrong answer.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Limitation of liability. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for lost profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or €100 if you paid nothing.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes: (a) liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence; or (d) your statutory rights as a consumer, including under Polish law implementing the EU Consumer Rights Directive and, if you reside elsewhere in the EU, UK, or US, the mandatory consumer protections of your own jurisdiction.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or where we reasonably suspect fraud or abuse. You may close your account at any time by contacting hello@sedesmaximus.com; unused credits are handled per our Credits & Refunds Policy. We may discontinue the Service, in whole or part, with reasonable notice where practical; we will honour outstanding refund obligations for unused credits.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the revised version here with an updated "Last updated" date, and for material changes we'll make reasonable efforts to notify registered users (e.g. by email) before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
These Terms are governed by the law of Poland, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules of your own country of habitual residence, which continue to apply if you are a consumer.
If you are an EU/UK/US consumer and have a complaint, please contact us first at hello@sedesmaximus.com so we can try to resolve it directly. For information on out-of-court dispute resolution options that may be available to you, see Section 11 of our Privacy Policy and the EU's consumer redress portal at consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu. Nothing here limits your right to bring proceedings before the courts of your country of residence where mandatory consumer law gives you that right.
